Art Phillips, originally from Erie, Pennnsylvania, now residing and working as a music composer and producer in Sydney Australia – followed in his father’s footsteps and played guitar starting when he was about 8 years of age. In his teens he became the musical director for Ron Seggi, vocal artist and radio announcer extraordinaire. When Art was 19, he got the job as guitarist for The Lettermen (the famous mid-late 60’s pop vocal trio).

Art Phillips has two Emmy awards for original music that he composed in the mid-1980s on the TV show Santa Barbara. He has scored over 1,500 hours of original music for broadcast TV series, films, documentaries, and advertisements. In the mid -1970s, he moved to Los Angeles and became a top session guitarist working with artists such as Barry Manilow, Minnie Riperton, Teena Marie, Dory Previn, Demis Roussos, John Rowles, and the group that drew him away from Erie when he was just 19 years old — The Lettermen.
